Recently Lux Mundi, Torre del Mar Centre was very pleased to welcome
the U3A Axarquia Spanish History Group for their first meeting of
the new season, as we do appreciate the great job the U3A does
encouraging cultural integration and the sharing of knowledge. The
first topic for the new season was `The History of Spanish Food´ with
accompanying video and some delicious samples to enjoy after the
talk and the remainder of the talk took place in the beautiful gardens
at the Centre and it was a great success. Following a change of venue
the History Group will now meet on the second Monday of the month
at Lux Mundi’s Centre in Torre Del Mar between 11am & 1pm where
they will enjoy talks given by their members who research topics of
their choice relating to any part of Spanish History. New members are
always welcome and information can be found on the U3A Axarquia
website (u3aaxarquia.com) or by telephone to the group leader,
Andrew Henbest, on 618241552. n

One of the biggest events in
Malaga took place in early
September, the Malaga Fashion
Week. This fashion show boasts
the longest catwalk in Europe,
a staggering ‘Blue’ carpet of
300 metres in length. Now in its
eight year it’s a great place to
see some of the biggest names
in fashion. The event is usually
held over two evenings, starting
from 8.30pm for a couple of
hours during the 2nd week of
September. Fashion and culture
all mixed into one evening
makes this a real ‘must-see’
annual event.
