Curro was found by a Costa
Animal Society (CAS) volunteer
in the campo after he had been
attacked by another dog and
he had several bite marks on
his back as well as a long term
abscess in a tooth that created an
opening in his cheek. His owner
told the rescuer that he
was not going to pay
for any vet treatment
because Curro was an
old dog and he was
going to let nature take
its course. The volunteer
convinced the owner
to relinquish Curro to
CAS and he has been
in our care for the past
five weeks. His bites

In this month’s article, we
would like to share with you
the story of a very special
boy named Sammy. Sammy
was a happy and energetic
puppy living in an apartment
with his lovely human dad.
One very sad day, Sammy’s dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. In the
last months of his life, Sammy’s dad spent long periods of time away in
the hospital and Sammy was taken care by his elderly grandparents. This
was a real struggle for them since they were in their 80’s and Sammy was
a lively and active young dog.
Tragically, Sammy’s dad passed away and his parents could not keep on
taking care of him. Then, they decided to give him another chance with the
folks at TAIL TORROX.
Having lived most of his life in an apartment, the first few weeks in the
kennels were a struggle for Sammy, but he is adapting now. When he goes Back Soon!
out, he is not afraid of traffic and he is a bit keen to pull. But he is a quick
learner and would definitely benefit from basic training and more exercise.
Sammy is one year
and a half old German
shepherd cross. He is Be Safe!
very friendly with people
and appears to be good
with other dogs, although
he is not that keen on
cats! He would be best
suited to a home with no
small children as he is a
bit excitable and jumps
up.
If you would like to know

for adoption, please
